I could probably design something and 3D print it fairly quickly / easily (Depending on the mounting solution desired).  PETG would be a good plastic for that as well since it should be strong and heat resistant, but flex a bit too.

If you have some digital calipers, we can discuss offline and see if something is doable for that.

I know I keep posting track photos, but I've always wanted nice photos of my car in motion and now I have many and I am so thrilled about it

Was doing a run with some friends through Woodside and by chance happened upon a photographer taking pics in the rain. Photog is Sky Londa Motor Club.

CMP 7433 edited 2

Then a new photographer at Thunderhill East I haven't heard of, but apparently he got big, and I can see why. TYR Photo.

Thanks LT. Actually they have a cheap inexpensive one made of metal on Amazon with all the fittings. I will just pick that up. The only thing left is to use the gear now that I finished renovating my half bath which was a real pain but now it’s finally done after throwing out my back and muscle exhaustion.

I hope everyone is having a great new year, I know I am.  I bought a new CZ bolt action rifle which I wanted for a very long time but somewhere in the mix I lost interest in the gun hobby because it was getting expensive and the only good outdoor range which does not require a membership is a bit of a drive two counties over.

I found a laser dry fire simulator that is amazing.  I can now have almost the same kind of fun I would if I was at the range improving my perishable skills. The funny thing about this hobby for me is I started out with the tacticool stuff but ended up liking traditional bolt action.  I don't even care about all of that pseudo sniper stuff. I just like the ability to have a simple ranch rifle where I can improve my marksmanship by not having to spend a fortune in turning the rifle into a precision shooter.

The most interesting aspect of this rifle is its untraditional ammo. It shoots a 7.62x39 cartridge which is the Russian AK 47 round.  This cartridge is probably one of the most common in the world and very cheap. Unlike a traditional precision shooter that can be picky, it will feed inexpensive steel case ammo reliably making it unique in its own way.

With the simulator you can be 15ft away but can have your printed target size small to simulate distance as if you were shooting 25 yards upto a one mile that you need to calculate in the settings with the correctly scaling of the target. The new update of the app that is coming out will simulate ballistics of the bullet drop at distance which should be interesting.

The cost of the app is free and you can use any cheap laser cartridge from Amazon.  It is not a substitute for the range but it does have some advantages of not having to go to the range.

I have been so busy this month with an unexpected project. I come to know a local member in 2017 which I have helped with his car and over the period of seven years and we have become close friends. Well it seems that he had two storage sheds or stuff that he had to evacuate so I inherited all of his tools along with the tool chest and a number of other things. It was very generous of him to do so but I had to clean them so I bought an ultrasonic cleaner.  It worked so well that I returned it and upgraded to a larger one but I had to return that unit because the stainless steel tub was eroding out from one of the pressure points of the basket.

I will probably get another one later but so far I have cataloged and organized so many tools which I had to remove many doubles that I will donate to someone else. All of the tools that I picked out are all useful and high quality so it's not junk in anyway.

Both of my cars have been extremely reliable. I am done modifying the Spyder but you never know when there is work to be done for the car or house and that mystery tool saves the day and a fortune in labor.

Nice about the tools, Dev!  I've been gradually getting better at organization of my tools and I really need to re-do my garage to be a much more efficient use of space.  My main engine project is complete, but I still have other things planned to do to the car (just on a much smaller scale).  I do help people out with mechanical stuff every now and then and I work on my cars.  So I agree with keeping the tools around.

AFAIK, images have always worked here unless someone is hosting them on another site and that site goes down.

I am terrible at organizing my tools. It's not entirely my fault because there is no good method to keeping them organized until now.

You need to get something like this.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWRKQX4K?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

I tried a long time ago to cut out foam holes in the drawer to organize sockets but it ends up in a soup. After I finish something I just dump the sockets in the drawer because I am tired and never get around to organizing them. Then it's a real pain to look in and find the socket I need in the soup.  It wastes so much time and its frustrating in dim light.

This well designed socket holder has just the right amount of magnetic attraction to hold the socket upside down but not too strong where you have to grip the base to pull them out.  Also the entire base on the bottom is magnetic so you can stick it where you are working and just bring the sockets back to the drawer when you are done.

My only regret is, I wish I would have invented it.

Yep.  This is what I am using:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BTDXTBKL

Along with these organizers:

* https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09W7BXCX4 - For even more Metric socket storage

* https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Z32L9K - For ratchets, extensions, and adapters

* https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NTEF4UU - For Screw Drivers and Picks

* https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NTCHWCA - For Pliers and stuff like that

* https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H49FD8E - For wrenches

Now, even with all of those, I still have loose wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, etc.  But it's a lot better organized now.

I want to rearrange tool box locations and build a workbench in my garage as well as re-position the control for the scissor lift and do some better power tool organization.  It's a pretty big project, but it will be great when I'm able to complete it.  I really need to organize my detailing supplies, towels, etc too.

...  I should have posted affiliate links.  Oh well, I am rarely thinking about that.

Thats good to see.  I almost got the screwdriver and pliers trays from your links when I was looking at options. I came to realize that I would make soup of it like you mentioned.  I decided since I was going to make soup why not have organized soup trays so I did this instead.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BAI1GU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

As an example one tray on the left of the drawer is nothing but flat head screw drivers and the other side tray is full of Philips. Same with wrenches and pliers.

I then bought this set of small trays to house small  screwdrivers or specific types of tools.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ2L78RK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

In the end I got wiser to my lazy proclivities. It’s still soup but its organized and easy to get and put back.

Good idea!  I have that same set of small trays being used in my office in some other drawers.  I'll likely get some of the other types that you posted as well to keep some of the things a bit contained and partially organized.

Those individual large Rubbermaid trays work really well. They are large enough length wise to be useful almost like a divider.

I also bought this intermediate chest to organize sockets. This was really cheap compared to what is out there but ok quality.
I noticed that once it comes back in stock it sells out quick.
