I cannot tolerate in-ear headphones, I am weird like that, but thanks for the tip. My kids like them, and Xmas draws nigh. I think one of them actually needs a set.

I second the assertion about wireless being better than sliced bread. There is measurable improvement in comfort and outright hassle reduction. Even if you are wired to a portable device, the wires still tug on clothing, furniture, and even your own skin. Coupled with the tug being applied to the inside of your ear canal... just... NO. Not for me.

I'm generally not very tolerant of in-ears as well. I have weird ears. But I'm a big fan of the M&D MW07 PLUS (wearing them right now), Samsung Galaxy Buds, and Creative Outlier Air/Gold. All fit me relatively comfortably.

Most people including I are not a good fit for IEMs, thats why you tip roll until you find what fits your ear and then stick with it. There are different size tips and not all tips are the same and both left and right canals are the same as you have double flange, triple flange and various other tip choices.  Actually what works for just about everyone is the memory foam tips, Just roll them up and insert them as foam ear plugs. Once the foam expands they take the shape of your ear canal and will be so comfortable you will not know they are there.  Most people get on the noise canceling hype but in actuality memory foam plugs has by far the best noise isolation of any known system which  can be troubling because you can at times hear your own heart beat and its not meant for a busy environment where you can get hurt.

The level after that is some high end IEMs will have you see an audiologist to make casts of your ear canal and based off that they will make you a custom set of plugs. Most don't do this because usually tip rolling does the trick and saves you some money.

What Im trying to convey is don't discount any headphone or IEM based on limited experience as its not a once size fits all for most people.   Its also the same with cables as some are just terrible in design thats why its best to get an IEM where you can switch cables that have good relief. The good stuff takes these issues into account unlike the cheap gear.

I used some fancy foam tips I was recommended and I like them. Less harsh and pressury than rubber. https://amzn.to/34cZDap

I came close to getting those when I was tip rolling.  One of the reasons why I like my Etymotic ER4 is mainly because I can insert deeply and not have them fall out.   The traditional IEM like the Blons just don't work for me until someone told me to tip roll and have the cable go behind the ear.  They suggested the SpinFit double flange, Comfy foams, Sony and the JVC spiral dots.   After I got the Sony tips it worked great so I stopped there. I am thinking of trying the JVC spiral dots as many seem to like these.

Picked up a 2nd gen RAV4 facelift airbag. I dig it. The cover is in good condition, I cleaned it after taking this photo, but the silver ring is scuffed. Gonna paint it black for now but I'm open to ideas! Gonna throw it into my MR2 steering wheel.

Is it a good idea to install a used airbag?  By used I mean not new... obviously you couldn't install a used airbag... that would really look weird.

I mean, it's a year newer than the airbag that's currently in my car. So is it any worse? I dunno. When I did the steering wheel conversion on my Corolla, I swapped in a JDM Celica airbag. My thought process is that as long as the airbag components are PRESENT, they should be in working order.

Here's something kind of random...

Whoever can tell me the significance of my avatar wins a 5 pack of vinyl JDM logo stickers.  These are high quality decals, UV and weather resistant material.  Blue is the only color I have.

Your hints are that my name has nothing to do with it, and I'm from Long Beach.

General Petroleum Corp and Mobilgas? I found this....

I also found this weird old picture...

unusual horse hat pulling sleek 1 a4a10cdcecf57f762c1243e59391a538

More intriguing than the horse with a hat is the empty carriage it's pulling, and what looks like a hat floating above said empty carriage. The picture was supposedly taken in Oakland, CA.

Or maybe I'm just really tired.

@marsrock7

I love old advertisements, and that one's a real gem.  The floating hat in the other picture is very weird indeed, and Oakland does have weird things from way back.

What is it, I wonder, about the guy from Long Beach, who has an avatar of a horse with a hat on... hmmm
