Thanks, and sorry for not having anything posted for so long. I just haven't had my mind on much the last months, due to a loss in the family.

Sorry for your loss, good to hear you are ok, and nice to see you back

Dave

Thanks for the kind thought, Dave! Ya, with all that's going on, I feel it's best to stand back and let this run it's course...+ a new p/t-f/t job being a courier in the healthcare industry, COVID-19 worries, not me ;^) :^) !!!

Not looking for, or trying to generate any sadness/sympathy, my step daughter's 3mo daughter, Kyan, passed away 1-31. Not SIDS related. I buried my 9mo daughter Amanda, 9-74, again, not SIDS related. It gives one a different perspective...one of the reasons I love working with kids; coaching T&F and tutoring at-risk 1st grade readers and trying to not "yell at/scold" my grand kids when we're together and they've "been naughty".

We'll just stand back and see what plays out over the next weeks/months.

Stay safe and God Bless you all...

Galo

I was recently asked if I was going to go ahead and re-organize a/the meet. With so many states registering renewed, high numbers of COVID-19 infections, I'm at a loss as to whether I should or not.
Is there anyone who wants this meet to happen? I really don't want to take any chances, but IF EVERYONE who would attend would wear masks/respirators when not in their cars(YES, they come off when eating/drinking), I'd go ahead and see when "you" could make it. I don't know how one could get time off for any travel at this late date.

So, anyone, everyone interested, PLEASE chime in! I will not organize this for 2 or 3 cars.

If I had at least a 2 week heads up I would be willing to showup and take all neccecary precautions. However, I can understand why others may not feel the same way.

Depending on how the new surge continues to go, I may be teaching all of my classes online so I would pretty much be available for any time slot.  If my classes stay in-house, I might still be able to make it depending on dates and times.  🍻

Well, it will be in Indiana, so it can't be too late in the year, and I want to make it on a weekend that doesn't have a college football game being played in the area(assuming there will be a college football season), meaning IU or DePauw.

I guess I missed this;

RIA said "However, I can understand why others may not feel the same way."

"...why others may not feel the same way."

About what? Wearing a mask and /or social distancing?

I guess my use of "however" made it seem grammaticaly that the statement that came after was referring to the action(s) of precautions. Meant to imply a hesitance of travel in general, regardless of precautions.

This is why I presented this proposal this way. I postponed the meet in the first place to hopefully get this "thing over with". Well, this "thing" is far from over, unfortunately.

I hope there is more dialog, and soon, or the meet just won't happen.

RIA, thank you for not being offended by my question.

No worries haha. Sit me down to write a formal document or communication and I'll make sure to proof and eliminate semi ambiguous statements and implications. But on a message board that is basically conversational, the less formal/ sometimes sloppy, usages come out. I can completely understand the miscommunication.

Would be better to wait till this situation improves, having people from many different areas meeting up would not be appropriate at this time. Will be a better meet when all this coved is over. Just my feelings. Sort of sucks but what are we to do

I made this proposal at the bequest of a participant in this thread. I wasn't really thinking of getting going.

Dave, my thoughts are similar to yours. 2 of my co-workers tested positive relatively early on. They were both asymptomatic. I tested NEGATIVE 5/12, and plan to stay that way.

With the limited, but heady responses, unless there is a dramatic improvement in the continued assault of COVID-19, there will be no meet in the foreseeable future.

Thank you for your input, gents!

Be safe...Stay healthy!

Ok, here goes again...a local Spyder-er recently mentioned to me "seeing if any meets were being planned"...is anyone interested? I could get one setup relatively easily...if not a typical driving run, maybe just a meet-up at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with maybe a lap around the track, BUT, I'd have to get moving and make contact with IMS for that to happen.

So, anyone...any ideas?

@galo That sounds amazing, but I'm a bit too far away.  If this is for June 2022, then it's possible I can plan for it, though.

LT, anything is possible! I really haven't put too much thought into a meet, but SW-Indy put the bug in my ear. One thing in our favor in getting on The Speedway track is CRASHCAR is a part of a double header with INDYCAR on the IMS road course. Since Toyota is one of the CRASHCAR manufacturers... 🤔 🤔 🤔 ...one never knows...BUT, that date would eliminate a local Spyder owner.

If we aren't all dead by then... 😉 😉
