Prepping to Paint

Just came home for a lunch break - we hope to have it all put back together by tonight and my parts of the work will be done. 

Then tomorrow it will get wet sanded and buffed out.

Then I need to get it home and clean up the wheels, and then I will snap some finished pictures.

Finished fitting the body panels and everything aligned nicely.  😀 

Still need to finish installing the mirrors, and to polish and dark tint the head and tail lights and then install them,

so for now its time to sand and polish the body.

I look at the picture of the car and think,  "man, that's looking good. " 

I look at the picture of the polishing pads and cutting compound/polish and think, "man, that's a lot of work." 

Makes me want to go out to my shop and turn the radio on, open the doors to the fresh spring air and settle in for another long cup of coffee.  😷 🙃 

 Polishing new paint or even detailing  with a rotary polisher is lots of fun. Very relaxing.   

 Its a skill that requires lots of patience and know how.  I practiced on my Sisters car first.

Seriously I did. It’s actually still in the library in Spyderchat where I did my first write up on how to detail using at the time my Sisters Black Camry fifteen years ago. 
Back then we learned a lot, not a whole lot of information on the web for this kind of stuff but that all went away with YouTube presenters some time around 2010. 

What noemr2 is doing with show and tell is just like the old days.

Not relaxed yet, but should be done by tonight and then its time to clean the interior and polish the wheels. 

I really like the color and now that the body work is done, everything looks really nice.
