Summer vs winter tyre tést

For me the surprise was how góód summer rubber is braking on dry cold tarmac and the explanation holds water too (pun intended).

In temperate and warmer climates, the % of wet roads during the colder spells is the crux.

Where I live the 80% better braking condition dureing the coldest months have wiped any thoughts of winter rubber from my mind.

This observed, common sense concerning the properties of the rubber fitted remains crucial regardless of the type.

For my Spyder, I have BFG COMP2's for Spring/Summer/Fall, Michelin X-Ice3's for Winter. I put the Winter tires on in December or when the first snow is predicted. the 3 season's go on late March or early April. The Winter tires make my Spyder very "snowmobile like". The only thing that keeps me from driving is deep snow, over 6-7", due to it being a bit lowered. I drove my G35(GT350 to you) this Winter. It has all season's that worked very well, as we didn't have a lot of snow, but the car handled what we had with aplomb. Also, this Winter the Spyder mostly sat, waiting for me to work on its leaky exhaust. Basically fixed, and with a new battery, I have been driving it the last week and need to switch the tires.

"Think as we think", say many Spyder owners, "or you are abominably wicked, you are a toad". After I'd thought about, I said "I will then, be a toad."
Thank you, Stephen Crane
